Famus (operated by Reebootradio LLC) respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. This policy applies to all Famus services, including Famus Live and Famus Music.

Filing a Notice of Claimed Infringement

To be effective, your written notice must include the following, per 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with information reasonably sufficient to let us locate it on Famus.
  4. Your contact information — address, telephone number, and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

What Happens After You File

Upon receiving a complete notice, Famus will:

Counter-Notice

If you believe your material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice including, per 17 U.S.C. § 512(g):

On receipt of a valid counter-notice, Famus may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity.

Repeat-Infringer Policy

Famus maintains and reasonably implements a policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of repeat infringers:

This policy applies to all Famus account holders, including artists, labels, and DJ subscribers.

Record-Keeping

Famus logs notices, counter-notices, decisions, and their timing in an append-only audit trail for accountability and compliance.

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification — may be liable for damages.
